"Crested Pigeon No. 1" is rendered in soft neutrals and warm copper tones, this work captures the crested pigeon in a moment of quiet awareness. The bird’s upright posture and attentive gaze convey a sense of calm presence, inviting stillness and gentle observation.
Copper leaf on watercolor paper treated with patina, allowing oxidation and chance reactions to establish the surface. Layers of oil paint applied loosely, preserving areas of exposed copper, patina, and visible sketch marks as active elements within the work.
