“By Nature” explores the instinctive knowing that exists beneath thought, expectation, and outside influence. The wolf becomes a reflection of this inner wisdom, representing the importance of trusting what already exists within and following what feels inherently true.
The organic patterns of the patina were intentionally allowed to remain visible through the wolf, weaving the story held within the copper into its form. Like the wolf, we carry the marks of experience and transformation as part of who we are, not separate from our nature, but woven into it.
Created with oil paint over genuine copper leaf on canvas. The reflective qualities and dynamic nature of genuine copper allow the painting to shift subtly with changing light, creating depth and luminosity unique to this work.
