“Between Moments” explores the space between where we have been and where we are going, the often overlooked moment of simply being here. Poised between stillness and movement, the heron becomes a reflection of presence, reminding us that not every moment needs to be filled with action or anticipation. There is meaning in the pause itself.
The copper was intentionally allowed to glow through layers of transparent paint, becoming part of the atmosphere surrounding the heron. As the surface responds to changing light, it reinforces the fleeting nature of a moment and the beauty found in being present enough to notice it.
Created with oil paint over genuine copper leaf on canvas. The reflective qualities and dynamic nature of genuine copper allow the painting to shift subtly with changing light, creating depth and luminosity unique to this work.
